The proposed dates for SMC's 2011 diary are as follows :-

Saturday, April 9th - Car Preparation afternoon (CORRECTION - NEW DATE)

This will be an informal afternoon at a venue near Tamworth where we will have the services of MSA scrutineer Andrew Farington to provide guidance on car preparation, and offer any advice you may need for getting your car ready for the upcoming competitive season. There will be some competition cars at the venue also, to provide practical demonstration.

Sunday, 15th May - Treasure Hunt (Car-based)

Social event - the usual non-competitive car-based treasure hunt, always good family fun!

17th/18th June - Rally of the Midlands

As if anyone needed reminding! We will be running the Bramcote stage as usual. More details nearer the date, but assistance will be needed - please register your interesting with Dan Howell (see Contacts).

2/3rd July - Lichfield Cars in the Park

As per last year, we will be looking to host a stand at the Cars in the Park event in 2011 - this year for both days. As usual we will be looking for members to come along and represent their club in one capacity or another - including offers to bring along your cars to put on display.

Sunday, 18th September - Treasure Hunt (Walk-based)

Another social treasure hunt but this time without the need for a car - it will be based on foot around the Warwickshire countryside, starting and ending at a suitable pub (The Plough Inn, Shustoke).

Regular Club Nights

As always, the first club night in each month will attempt to offer something 'special' over just a drink and a chat. The provisional plan for the year for each of these club nights is as follows :-

March - nothing, because we have the car prep day on Saturday 5th instead
April - simulator/playstation night
May - picture quiz
June - First aid / Rally of the Midlands training night
July - Karting (venue to be confirmed)
August - Speedway racing
September - simulator/playstation night
October - Scalectrix night
November - Ten Pin bowling (venue TBC - probably Tamworth)
December - photograph competition / rally car cool wall

These will all be captured in the newsletters over the year and I'll also pop them on the web site calendar at some point too.
