Mailing List Details

The Streetly Motor Club mailing list is an automated service that receives and shares emails between all members of Streetly Motor Club. A person can send one email to the mailing list as if it was a real person. The mailing list server then distributes the person's email to everyone else who has joined the mailing list, and they receive it like a normal email.

This helps Streetly members communicate with each other easily without having to remember every member's email address.

It helps the committee distribute important news and announcements to members.

It allows members to free themselves from having to keep a record of email address (particuarly when these change) as one single email address is all you need to remember in order to send a message to every other SMC member - easy peasy!

It's completely free

Send an email to streetlymotorclub-owner@yahoogroups.co.uk, giving details of who you are (name and the email address you want to use to subscribe to the list). Wait for a n invitation email and you'll then be ready to post away. The email might take a while to turn up as it's not an automated process - see below.

Membership is limited to approved members so you won't be able to start using it straight away. A member of SMC's committee will approve your membership request within a few days of your application.

This stops unwanted spammers from subscribing to the list and flooding us all with rubbish emails. It's an unfortunate state of affairs that we need to, but if we allowed anyone to subscribe to the list it would be full of spammers in no time (and we all have enough spam to put up with off George already!).
