Radio Equipment

Things you will need:

  • Radio - configured to the Motorsports Association Safety & Medical frequency

  • Power lead - connected directly to the vehicles battery

  • Microphone - should come with the radio

  • Aerial - fitted to a

  • Mag Mount (with lead)

Notes:

  • The power lead should be fixed directly to the vehicles battery, with a fuse in both the positive and earth leads, as close to the battery as possible.

  • The microphone should be located where it cannot be accidentally operated.

  • The aerial should be the correct tuned length

  • The aerial lead should not be used if it appears damaged - regularly check is continuity.

Additional equipment that might be useful (one day)

  • portable mast

  • dipole aerial

  • low-loss aerial lead
